Using a Thumb Drive to Print

kyocera-copierNetwork Downtime? Use a Flash Drive to Keep Printing

Did your network decide to misbehave? We recently helped a customer who had a similar issue. Because he did not know to print using a flash drive, we figure that other people may not know how either. How do you print using a flash drive? First, you learn that the Internet has failed, and you cannot print. Do not panic! Instead, look for a USB port located on your copier. With most copiers, you can find it near the control panel on the front.

Third, plug the flash drive into the USB port of a laptop and save the documents that you need to print. Most often, this will be found on drive D or E with computers. Fourth, remove the flash drive from the laptop and insert it into the copier. You will then have to use the control panel and find the flash drive with the documents that you need to print.

Finally, print per normal. In most cases, network downtime just feels annoying, but in those situations where you must print documents, you can still do it with a flash drive.
