Xerox Copier Company
Xerox has been leading the way with technology innovation for over 75 years and have continued that success. They continue to provide great service for businesses that have been able to succeed in part due to working with Xerox. Here are some great things you might not have known about them.
In 1938 they developed what is known as the “dry copying” process when Chester Carlson developed it in his kitchen. This actually almost led to a his house being burned down when he started a fire in the kitchen but ultimately Xerox hired Carlson and never looked back.
They were also the company that developed the first office server, desktop computers, graphical user interfaces, and the first thing that we now know as the “mouse.” On top of this they also invented the first cathode ray tube monitor. Eventually Steve Jobs would go on to use all of these things in his first Macintosh computer.
They have developed the “e-Concierge” which is able to gather data so that you will be able to know that you are in need of toner or paper so that you can order it before you run out.
They also invented the first laser jet printing process.
They have also started offering a lot of cloud based products so that companies can work remotely and still stay in contact with the main office.
On top of all of the great technological innovations, they have also been socially progressive and this is evidenced by being the only fortune 500 company with an African-American female CEO.
