Copier Shipping 101

There are common parts of copier leases that most people don’t pay attention to. One of the most overlooked areas is what you need to do when you are getting ready to ship your copier back. Many people don’t even know that shipping a copier is their responsibility. Copier shipping is easy, but it’s also something that you want to stay ahead of.

Don’t assume that your leasing company is going to come and pick up your copier when your lease is over. This is usually not the case. The responisiblity falls on the person who leased the copier to get the machine back to where it needs to go. You have to work with some kind of shipping company that will help you get this job done.

Shipping companies are happy to help you, but the more notice that you give the better. Prices will always be higher if you wait longer to schedule a pickup.

Copier leasing companies know that people will often be scrambling to figure out shipping until the last moment. This is when they may offer to ship the copier for free if you sign another lease with them. You can use this to negotiate if you like your company, but it can also be a way that they may bully you into another lease that you don’t want.

Don’t let your copier leasing company back you into a corner because of something as easy as shipping. If you figure copier shipping out early then the decision is whatever you want to make it.
