Return your Copier the Right Way
We mentioned it briefly in our last blog post, but returning a copier can often be an arduous process. This week we wanted to clear the air on how to return your copier the right way, so you don’t waste money or time.
When your lease ends its important to make sure you know what your signed in your contract. Many people have automatic rollover which allows the leasing companies to continue your lease unless otherwise specified. That means you have to terminate your contract or else you will continue to be charged.
This is where most people lose money. They don’t know this is in their contract and end up being charged for additional months. Once they charge you there is little recourse.
Make sure you check for this provision in your lease. If you have automatic rollover, then make sure you do not miss the time allotted to cancel your contract.
You also need to make sure that you are returning everything as they request. Toner will always need to be placed in separate, sealed plastic bags. Some companies will also require you to package other parts separately, like the paper tray.
Finally, make sure you actually have some sort of pickup scheduled. It’s not always the leasing companies resonsbility to get the copier back. They may charge you crazy fees to pick it up if you do not figure it out on your own.
